Anime Central is Honored to Welcome Asaka, Sayaka Sasaki, TRUE, and ZAQ

Anime Central has announced that it will host Asaka, Sayaka Sasaki, TRUE, and ZAQ at this year's event. The four artists will perform on Friday May 17th, 2019 in an all new showcase concert. Admission to the concert showcase is complementary with the purchase of an event pass to Anime Central 2019. In addition to the concert Asaka, Sayaka Sasaki, TRUE, and ZAQ will be participating in autograph sessions and panels throughout the event weekend.
ZAQ is a singer, songwriter and composer. She began playing piano from the age of 3, and graduated from a music college majoring in piano. Aside from studying classical, she is experienced with several genres including rock, pop, R&B, & Hip-hop. She self-taught composition, and began writing songs for other artists in 2012.
In October 2012, she made her major debut as a singer with “Sparkling Daydream”, the opening theme song of TV anime Love, Chunibyo & Other Delusions!. Since then, she has performed several popular anime theme songs, from titles such as Classroom of the Elite, Concrete Relolutio, Sasami-san@Ganbaranai, Food Wars!, Trinity Seven, The Magnificent KOTOBUKI, and more.
In 2017, she provided wrote the theme song music, lyric and arrangement (co-arrange) for “Animelo Summer 2017 –THE CARD-” the largest anisong event in Japan.
She has also energetically provided music composition and lyrics for other artists such as Sayaka Sasaki, Haruna Luna, Maaya Uchida and anime/game works such as Beyond the Boundary, Sound! Euphonium and iDOLM@STER Million Live.
Her 17th single “Sora no ne” released January 23 is the opening to The Magnificent KOTOBUKI, and her 18th single “Against The Abyss” released February 27 is the opening to the new Trinity Seven movie.
TRUE began her career as a singer with the single “anytime, anywhere” produced by Satoshi shimano. In 2001, her third single, “Way to Love”, was featured on the drama Love Revolution and became a smash hit, selling 300,000 copies and reaching number 10 on the Oricon chart.
In 2011, she transitioned into a song lyricist. She handled writing anime openings and endings from artists such as Eir Aoi, Kis-My-Ft2, LoVendoЯ, and iDOLM@STER character songs. Her “Beat Generation” performed by the idol group Fairies, which she wrote the lyrics to, won the 45th Japan Cable Awards Music Excellence Award. Fans praised her for the passion and tenderness of her lyrics.
In 2014, she began working again as the singer TRUE. Starting with the opening theme of Buddy Complex, TRUE has been responsible for popular anime themes for shows including Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans, Sound! Euphonium, and Violet Evergarden.
TRUE has a strong command of music, with brash and hot compositions whose sounds beat and change. When she belts out ballads in her soprano voice, listeners can't stop their tears. Her voice can't be contained and will continue to grow and give people energy. As her confidence expands through her work as a singer and artist, TRUE will continue to make great strides.
In 2019, “TRUE” is headed into her fifth anniversary year since her recent debut. She will further be broadening the scope of her activities as anisong singer and lyricist. Please look forward to her future success!
Sayaka Sasaki is not only a singer, but also as a voice actor and actress. She debuted in 2010 with the opening theme song for The Book of Bantorra Season 2, “Seisai no Ripieno”. She has attended many large music festivals held at venues such as Yokohama Arena and Saitama Super Arena; as well as appearances at overseas conventions in Asia, North America, South America, and the Middle East.
Sasaki's works include the opening theme for Senran Kagura “Break your world”, ending theme for Nichijou - My Ordinary Life “Zzz”, opening theme for Girls und Panzer das Finale “Grand Symphony”, opening theme for Bakuon!! “FEELxALIVE”, etc. She has performed for many theme songs used in anime and games, including cover albums. In total, she has released 5 albums and 15 singles.
Sasaki is actively involved in music production as she has been writing her own lyrics since debut, and in recent years, adding music composition to her list of skills.
Asaka is a Japanese singer with 5pb. Records She was born in Japan but spent five years in Michigan at the age of three. She has loved singing ever since she was a child, and after winning several karaoke competitions in 2014-2015, she made her debut with her first single “Open your eyes” in October 2016, which is the ending theme of the anime Occultic;Nine.
Her second single “Edelweiss” (ending theme of TV anime A Centaur's Life) released in July 2017 placed #1 in July 26th's ranking of Mora Daily Hi-Res Single Ranking. She released her 3rd single “Play the Game” (opening theme of video game Occultic;Nine) in November 2017.
Her 4th single “SHINY DAYS” (opening theme of TV anime Laid-Back Camp) placed #8 and #15 in the February 5th's ranking of Oricon's Weekly Single Chart and Billboard Japan Hot 100 respectively. It also placed #1 in January 18th's Mora Daily Hi-Res Single Ranking, and was long ranked #1 on Anisong streaming app ANiUTa both in Japan and overseas, including winning an award for “Best Winter 2018 Theme Song” on the service.
She released her 5th single “Eternal Star” which contains two ending themes of TV anime ISLAND. She recently released her first mini album “19BOX” (pronounced “Jukebox”) on January 9th, 2019.
She has appeared on the substage of the largest annual anime song festival in Japan “Animelo Summer Live” in 2017 and appeared on the main stage in 2018.
Her strong voice and perfect pronunciation of English have appealed to anime and music fans from all around the world.
