Quite a nice interview. Chibi Maruko-chan has a real charm to it, and I think it's a shame that most Western anime fans don't really seem to know much about it.
Crunchyroll eventually dropped its attempt to simulcast it, which is kinda telling. A real shame. Ironically enough, that short period where they were simulcasting it happened to coincide with the passing of TARAKO-san, so I got to hear Maruko's change in VA right alongside the Japanese viewers. I think Kokoro Kikuchi honestly does an amazing job carrying on the legacy. |

I've noticed that, as I get older, I really enjoy the more simple charms of children's anime. It's fun to imagine a Japanese family sitting together and watching such shows together.
I haven't tried Maruko-chan as of yet, but it has caught my attention several times. Reading Jun Takagi's thoughts on everything is pretty delightful. |

It sucks, I was actually enjoying it and really finding the charm in the show. Eventually, it led me to doing find the English dub produced around 2018. |
