After spending an awful lot of time looking around on the net, I have not managed to find anything about the status of either the fate of the unfortunate Iono-sama Fanatics (of which I own the 1st volume) or any other news concerning this authors licenses.
So, how would you go about finding such information? I've tried to send an English email to his site and I've asked Erica Friedman (http://okazu.blogspot.com/search/label/Fujieda%20Miyabi) to write the same basic message in Japanese, but received to reply so far. Seven Seas say that they "won't rule it out" but are not actively seeking it, so atleast some small amount of hope there. It's like this industry wants me to read scans, considering the terrible lack of information or answers on anything that isn't a huge license... So, if you have any idea or tips on how you obtain such information, please share and maybe bug your favourite company to pick any of the authors titles up if you like them. Thank you for your time! |

If you can't find the info by looking on Wikipedia, Anime News Network, or Baka-Updates Manga, then the info just really isn't there to be had. >_>
If you've absolutely gotta read the end of Iono-sama, you can easily find a scanlation of this series. Last edited by adam_omega on Fri Nov 19, 2010 4:02 am; edited 1 time in total |

"Then the info just really there to be had" I assume you mean: "is not really there to be had"? And I have read the series, I just liked it a lot and really felt like I should buy the series to support the author... Isn't it odd for a Seven Seas rep to recommend scanlations by the way? |

Yeah. Should've read: "Then the info just really isn't there to be had."
Not really. |

First, I'd just like to say to for me at least, I always feel dumber talking through the internet, especially on a forum. It just seems that you don't get your points as well across as you otherwise might. I meant no disrespect with the scanlation thing and I hope that you didn't take it as such. |

No, there wasn't any disrespect. I wish I could go into my personal views, but that's something I do have to refrain from on a public forum. So my "Not Really" was about all I could say on the subject. Best to avoid a shit storms whenever possible. Heh.

I know it's not for everyone, but when I can afford to, I buy the Japanese version of the manga. That supports the manga artists, and even though I can't read Japanese, it makes me feel better about downloading the scanlations.
And yes, I would be super excited to buy any of Miyabi's works if they were licensed. Right now none of the series I'm interested in are being licensed. I guess I like obscure stuff. |

I feel your pain. I was practically bouncing off of the shelves of my local Borders when I saw Volume 1 of Iono released, and Infinity Studios (bless them!) did such a good job with it, too, going so far as to include a dust jacket with the 4-panel jokes behind 'em... Fujieda's stuff just exudes this lovable warm-and-fluffy-feeling that I can't get enough of...*sniffle* I think I need a hug... |
