I'm rather curious as to how many volumes of manga everyone buys on average a week?
I think, for my part, I average about 5 a week, but I pick them up about every 2 weeks, so 10 at a time roughly. I'm going to try to go back to picking them up once a week so that a) it's spaced out more and b) the owner of the anime store doesn't have to hold them for me for too long (I feel guilty everytime I go by and he has stuff for me, but I say I'll pick it up in a week).

Actually, it depends on how much money I have and if there's a sale. For example, Waldenbooks just put up a new sale and I recently got money again - so I bought about 22 volumes within a week. However, thanks to rent comin' up and a sad need to eat food to survive, I probably won't be able to get back for awhile.
Generally tho', about one or two depending how tight my budget is.

I definitely hear you, Grieving Chaos, on the $$$ thing. I have a hard time justifying paying $10 per book for something that takes less time to read than a magazine. Since I'm relatively new to manga, I'll buy a couple here and there with my regular Borders purchases, usually once every 1-2 months, and the rest online whenever the urge hits. I am a huge fan of Amazon's "used" selection (which aren't always used stuff), which helps cut down on the costs.

Depends on what is out that I like or am interested in. I tend to pace myself when buying a series. The only real exception is when I bought Vagabond volumes 4-11 in the span of a couple of days (one day after buying 4, I borrowed money and went and got the rest of them), but that was only because it had hooked me.

It mainly depends if there are enough new releases or not. If I'm starting a new collection, I use to do it slowly, for if then I don't like it. That, except when I bought from 1 to 13 o Karekano...The shelf got pretty empty, hehe.

Just recently, 4. Initial D #14, Doll #2, Remote #3, and Sekai Trilogy #3. Average around 3 a week.

My household averages four volumes per week. In terms of buying them though, it's always been in fits. My wife and I walked out of Fry's Electronics with 11 volumes of Kare Kano(oweeee!). Since then, we've added 5 volumes of Ai Yori Aoshi. I can't say anything because she watched Najica Blitz Tactics and Kino's Journey.
