I'm guessing as far as "high profile" you're looking at either Noir or (as said before) Rahxephon. But, I'm also willing to wager that Cowboy Bebop: Knockin' on Heaven's Door is big on the list. March 28th, I've heard, is the release date in theaters.

I'm rooting for Millenium Actress, through and through.

All the advance reviews have said nothing but high praise, and it's a high-profile release by a big Hollywood studio.

OMG YAY

Depends on what you want.

Currently Noir is the front runner for "The Next Big Thing" for 2003.

Also, The Japanese language editions of the first two seasons of Sailormoon will come out some time this summer (subject to change).

Azumanga Daioh could be a contender as a late entry, assuming it gets licenced relatively soon. The same could be said for Di Gi Charat.

Overall, who knows?

of what I have seen... Noir is a biggy... and I love Gundam SEED, although that is years away from a North American release, I am proud to say that Gundam has still not gone under and is going strong with a new series that can compete with other great series....

What about .hack//SIGN? I think thats a biggie with both the games and The TV series and possibly the manga all coming out this year.

Chobits also is coming out on DVD soon.

Those 2 and X TV and the big dvd's that I am looking forward to picking up this year.

As far as movies, Spirited away Lapua: Castle in the Sky and Kiki's Delivery service all come out on the same day! Better start saving now Very Happy

I'm mainly looking forward to Noir, Read Or Die, and Hoshi no Koe at this point. Not a whole lot else on my "must buy" list. A few miscellaneous things like G Gundam volume 8, the Saber Marionette R DVD... Steam Detectives and ADV's Mospedia boxset and the uncut Sailor Moon episodes are possibilities... But that's about it for the next six months.

Of course, more will undoubtedly be added to the list as time goes by, but I'm ready for them. In the meantime, I'll be catching up on my backlog of things I've been meaning to buy but didn't because of all of the new releases I wanted last year.
Very Happy

Hmmm, Nataro, Noir, Ghost in the Shell TV, hack.//sign, and Chobits looks like it'll be the big sellers of the year (if Nataro get released in the States this year. I hope Azumanga Daioh sells big, if it does get released this year. Razz

I would have to say Noir and RahXephon probably look the best right now. Who knows what the rest of the year has in store?

lol, I'm one of the few people that can't stand Read or Die. I always want to strangle the main character, which is not a good thing. I have other reasons for not liking the series, but as this isn't a thread about RoD, I'll shut up.

I really don't envision Noir as the "next big thing." I don't know, I just don't see it. I'm still picturing something along the lines of Rahxephon, but I guess that's just personal preference.

I'm waiting for the day when people will say "OMG NOIR |5 R0X0R!!!!!" and dismiss Cowboy Bebop, just because Noir would be the "next big thing." Mark my words, my friends, that day will come, and when it does, I'll be the first to laugh.

Noir, RahXephon, Read or Die, and Ghost in the Shell TV are probably going to be the year's biggest hits. Azumanga Daioh, while popular among fanboys, I don't think will be a major breakthrough title. There isn't anything about that show that people will make a huge deal out of.

ugh... So true it is freightening.... But when does that NOT happen? There is some one who says that about basically every series, the problem is when that person comes here. Wink
