Mostly for the violence. Kenshiro's got a technique for any situation and basically all of them consist of him blowing off limbs if not the entire body.

Are there any supporting characters who team up with the main character to fight on the same side, and then either get thier own fight or fight at the same time as the main character but are important in the fight, like when in Ranma 1/2 where Shampoo, Mousse, Ryoga, and Ranma all fight Pantyhose Taro together?

Well I haven't read the manga and I used to watch the show while it was on Showtime Beyond so I couldn't tell you at what point it occurs in the story but I remember that for a while he did team up with this one guy (can't remember his name). He has from what I remember turquoise hair and instead of blowing people up like Kenshiro he slices up enemies with his fingers. Other than that Kenshiro also has two kids that he travels with. I don't know if they were in the manga or the New Fist Of The North Star.
