You know, this is the type of anime merchandise that I can get behind. I've never been a fan of t-shirts, figurines, calendars, or other stuff that screams "I'm an anime fan and I love ______________ like crazy!" But these are actually kind of classy. I could use these as decoration and nobody but other anime fans would notice that they're something other than interesting accent pieces.
Now if only they weren't $150...

Also I guess I should put forth a correction:
Quote: | Since the last Grief Seed only appeared in silhouette in the anime, the original Gekidan Inu Curry designers created an exclusive design for this replica. |
This grief seed did not appear at all in the anime, because its Witch, Homulily (Akemi Homura) did not appear in the show. It did, however, appear in the PSP game, but only in silhouette in one particular bad ending. Unlike the witch versions of the rest of the cast, all of which appeared in full in the PSP game, in addition to Oktavia von Sekendorf and Kriemhild Gretchen appearing in the anime)

What were the initial series of Grief Seeds made of? And does this mean we're likely to see opulent gold, silver and ruby Seeds?

In episode 11, as Kyuubey is giving an explanation to Madoka about Homura having no other choice but to push forward, we see her hypothetical grief seed, whose design can be found on the side of this grief seed (they didn't have a design at the time, but when making this design, they said they incorporated the silhouette onto the side).
A minor correction to the news article, though--InuCurry designed Homura's grief seed long ago, as I have a set of 300 yen capsule-toy grief seeds from September that includes that grief seed's design and the set of Grief Seed pins Lawson was carrying (of which I also have the full set of). Homura's grief seed, however, did not appear in the PSP game, unlike Mami and Kyouko's, which you could obtain by beating their witches.

Wait, are you saying that Madoka sees Homura's hypothetical grief seed? Interesting, I never caught that aspect. I know we saw Oktavia's when Madoka used it to cleanse Homura's Soul Gem in timeline three, and at least in one timeline we saw Gretchen's as well. I will have to keep an eye out for this next time I watch the show (or when I go see the movies)

Not quite. It's when Homura is busy fighting Walpurgisnaught and Kyuubey and Madoka are talking on the staircase of the evacuation center about why Homura can keep going, despite the situation. Kyuubey doesn't actually show anything directly to Madoka, but the visuals in the scene change during the conversation to accompany Kyuubey's explanation about Homura. He mentions how Homura knows that if she ever accepts the inevitable, she will turn into a grief seed. At that point, the visuals show a Homura, tied to the clock gear thing, morph into the shape of a grief seed silhouette with a diamond-ish shape inside.

Not on my doorstep they won't. That's a bit too much brass, for something that small and nothing but brass.

Yea that type of stuff looks artsy and stylish enough that anyone can display it. Really coo.

I'm still dismayed by the fact that I had to have it pointed out to me that the Grief Seeds had distinct designs at all.
Is there a reason the article doesn't just use the witch names instead of the spoiler text?
And I'm still not sure how canon "Homulily" is. It has the very distinctive feature of, y'know, not being an actual name. Even if it is two names mashed together. Should the PSP game really be placed on that level of canon?

Everything except the "Bonus Route" is canon.

Wait, when did Bandai sell light up Soul Gems? I thought the only replicas of those were the metal ones made by movic.
EDIT: Ah... According to the site, the light up Soul Gems are to be sold via Gashapon in December.
Anyways, with regards to the Grief Seeds, they are an instant get for me. I am a self-proclaimed Replica Nut, meaning to say that I go crazy for Anime replicas, so this is right up my alley.
