Hey, I just started watching the Trigun Anime on [Adult Swim] & it's pretty cool. I wanna check out the Manga, so I looked up the Anime & Manga on this site & I was shocked to see that the Original Trigun Manga ran only 2 Volumes & the Anime only 26 episodes, I've heard so much about this series, I was expecting more....than I see 11 Volumes of Trigun Maximum, so my question is.....did the Anime come before the Manga in this case? I mean what's the deal, why is there no Trigun:Maximum Anime? What is the reason for only 2 Volumes of the Original yet 11 of Maximum?

1. it’s listed in the Encyclopedia (It's a very resourceful database). The anime is adapted from the manga. You can tell by the year of anime and manga created also.
2. Trigun and Trigun Maximum are the same series. When Nightow change publisher, he had to change the title of the series too. TM continues where trigun left off, it's just with a different name. 3. The name Yasuhiro Nightow should sound familiar Trigun fan. |

But why doesn't TGM have an Anime?

...he just explained it. Trigun Maximum IS Trigun. It's the exact same series, albeit with a name change due to change in publisher.
The reason the events within Trigun Maximum differ from the anime is because the manga is an ongoing serial, and the TV series' producers couldn't exactly sit around and wait for ____ number of years for Nightow to finish just so they could adhere to accuracy. Same thing that happened with Fullmetal Alchemist, Rurouni Kenshin, and Hellsing's TV series. |

Oh, I see. OK I get it, there's no point in creating an Anime now because it already ended...perhaps fandon faded?
So are you saying certain series have different stuff happen? Like FMA & Kenshin, I am farmiliar with the FMA Anime, but not really the Manga, I;ve only read Vol.1 but I did relize it was differnt......do the series end differently? |

Kenshin just ended (prematurely) with a filler arc, but FMA totally diverged from the manga pretty early in the story. |

In my experience, almost every manga and anime has some differences between it, though some are a lot more substantial than others (ie, most CLAMP anime seems to have been made before the manga was finished, so there are differences, while with the Fushigi Yuugi anime, VERY little was cut/changed).

Not really "disgraces", It really could not be helped, the author was still writing the final arc, revenge, so they could'nt put it pause and take a break, they had to just make fillers, but some of the fillers are really entertaining, and the animation is superb.

Larrix: Thats kinda weird
First: Manga in Japan Second: Anime in Japanese Third: Manga translated in English And then Forth: American Japanese Anime. So it's Very weird that an anime would have for shows than volumes in a manga. Because before an manga becomes an anime the people that do the directing will have to go through every single volume of the manga to see if it need's edited and well censored Well By.[/list] |

Um...what? Okay, I think you're saying at the end that it's weird for an anime to have more episodes than the corresponding manga has volumes...which is completely ridiculous, really. Most anime series have more episodes than the manga had volumes, unless they completely cut out a lot. Also, your little order of how things come out might be true in some cases, but there certainly are exceptions. |

I just currently bought Vol 6 of the manga (Which is roughly up to episode 30 of the anime) and other than a slightly different take on events, its exactly the same. Its nowhere near as different as the manga of Trigun and Hellsing differ. (For now anyways)
I think any filler that gets an anime cancelled really disgraces the anime. I understand they had no choice, but they were horrible. The arc that is missing from the Kenshin anime is currently being released in the current volumes and it is just so good, I am thinking its better than the Kyoto arc. It is a shame it couldnt make it in the anime. |

Well, Trigun really starts to come into its own being once the Hoppered/Midvalley vs. Vash fight starts. Not only do one of the GHG actually get serious motivations and backstory, all the plot threads are put in place rather nicely, but then a quick dearth of action follows, at least until a certain someone gets killed....
