This could be an interesting thread.
In response to yours, Wow, that's a big screen. Is that a projection screen? if so, the quality looks good from the picture, but what's your first hand experience with it? I'll post mine once I clean my desk up v_v |

I was just about to ask that. Edit: thought I should add more to the post. Last edited by omar235 on Sun Nov 26, 2006 6:09 pm; edited 2 times in total |

I don't have any photos of it specifically but it's a moderate sized tv with a nice KOSS 5.1 surround sound sytem complete with sub-woffer.

SWEET! setup man, and Li'l Aoi on the big screen and/or Projection screen. I have nothing remotely fancy at all, just random TV's/computers and whatever setup they have |

Are those 15s I see in the speaker cabs? Wow, it's been ages since I've seen woofers larger than 8s in a home setting. With all the 5.1 setups, everything's getting smaller. |

@detective392 - nice setup your folks have there. A RL friend of mine has a setup very similar to yours, & we watched the re-mastered version of Akira on it; it was jawdropping to say the least.
This is the setup I use to watch anime on, when I can get my husband off the Xbox360 that is..,

Eh, I just have a 27-inch mid-1990s 28-inch Sony Triniton with a normal circa-2000 Toshiba DVD player, and I don't have extra speakers or anything. About the only thing remotely "unusual" about my video setup is that I have a Pioneer Laserdisc player that I bought just as LD was going the way of the dodo. The annoying thing is that, whenever I upgrade to HDTV, which won't be anytime soon since I can't afford it (and, unlike the United States, Canada doesn't have a leglislated end-of-NTSC-broadcasts day, so there's no rush to get one), because of the TV unit I have, I would be limited to a television that is only 28.5 inches wide (not diagonal) at the absolute maximum. While stuff in widescreen would be the same width as it is on my current television, if I watch something on the old 3:2 standard ratio, the actual picture would be much smaller than I see now on my old TV, which would be especially a problem for me as I prefer watching anime subtitled instead of dubbed.
I also watch anime at the University of Ottawa anime club...
...and some unlicensed shows at "The Site that Must Not Be Named". |

Where did you get that Alpha poster/calendar?! I have DotT on CD-ROM with full voice acting more than a decade ago, though. |

It's an ad for the second Yokohama Kaidashi Kikou OVA series. I got it either when I got the bargain-priced (by Japanese standards) ¥2100 DVD re-release of the first two Yokohama Kaidashi Kikou episodes or it might have been included in the 2003 Yokohama Kaidashi Kikou calendar.

Here's such a lame question....what beer is that ? lol I need about 20 after seeing some of your guys set ups. My bud Jason has an uber cool thousand buck projector with special screen and 6 small surround sound speakers in the room with the screen. It's sooooo nice. yes I watched hentai on it. I could feel the tentacle from my seat |
