I am really looking forward to this series with the staff involved. Saw a few previews as well the past few weeks too. Could be a dark horse of the season.

This looks like it could be a fun series. I just hope those Judges' names aren't for real. Rolling Eyes

They are for real, the artstyle kinda stands out a little for starters and having Yui ogura voicing a character who engages in yuri (that isn't a meanie like in Cross Ange) makes things even better.

So it's almost time for this show to begin for 2015. I didn't know that this story was based on a serialization by Akiko Morishima. It will be interesting to see how Kunihiko's take on her story will play out even though her story isn't finished. But knowing Morishima-san, she's all too thrilled that her work is getting animated. Hopefully we will see her work published here in the same way Chiho Sato's version of Utena's was published years ago.

Get the blogs revved up as they try and find all the symbolism that Kunihiko is known for.

I'm even more hyped for this than I am DRRR season two. Ikuhara improves with every work he's released. Utena is better than his work on SM, and Penguindrum is even better than Utena. Hopefully this keeps that up.

A shooting star crashes onto Earth -> Bears worldwide are going berserk -> humans barricade themselves behind gated communities.
It hooked me Smile

It's not based on the manga. The manga is a promotional piece for the anime - it didn't even start until 11 months after the anime was first announced. Thus, I'd assume the anime will be considered the primary canon of the franchise. (The same deal as, say, Nagi no Asukara.)

This is gonna be a weird one. It's success will be determined by its own ability to not over-stay its welcome. Of course with Utena and Penguindrum in the heartstrings, I'll probably like it regardless.

Plus, I like bears?

Okay. Thanks for clearing that up. I figured that had to be the case. Of course some info gets kind of misconstrued. Well, hopefully we'll get a tie in once it comes to our doors. Wink

Okay, for people who know more crude Japanese slang than I do, can "eating" in Japanese have a sexual connotation the way it can in English? Because if so, just... this series, wow. Looking forward to seeing this bit of weird for myself, assuming someone picks it up for streaming.

Has a weird premise, with weird sounding names for characters, has kawaii girls in it, and Kikuko Inoue, one of my fave VAs.

Literally anyone else but Sentai pick up this show please. I already know I'm gonna wanna own this show and it'd be even more awesome if there was an English Dub. But Sentai, please keep your grubby mitts off this time around. I will not give you my money.

That aside, I can't wait to watch Yuri Bear. There are just so many things going for the show that I don't even think it's possible for it to turn out bad.
