Well this certainly came out of nowhere, I wish I could see the meeting where this was decided. Don't see why it has to be a tacky flash animation or why the dub has to be done in America, but oh well.

There are next to no animation companies that dub anime in the UK so it makes sense that the dub would be done in America.

We have Side, although most of their work is in games (Ni no Kuni being a prime example). American dubs are, I believe, cheaper and more importantly make selling to America easier (hence every recent UK-commissioned anime dub other than Professor Layton and Arietty going overseas)
