Kyoto Animation is my favorite. Their animation is great and I've loved every show they've put out for the last 3-4 years (though Lucky Star took a while to warm to).

Bones and Madhouse are tied for second. They both produce some really great titles, though not nearly as consistently as KyoAni, but that's because they produce a lot more than KyoAni. Animation tends to be really good for both.

I would definitely have to say Madhouse is without a doubt my absolute number one. They consistantly do great work and have produced a large number of titles I've greatly enjoyed such as Monster, Black Lagoon/BL: TSB, Claymore, Gungrave, Gunslinger Girl, Aquarian Age, and A Girl Who Runs Through Time. In addition they usually anime more realistically when it comes to character designs which I prefer.

Runners up are BONES and Production IG.

Madhouse is my favorite like many others. i really praise them for faithfully adapting manga to anime very well. most recently would be death note and claymore. i like them the most because they have made some of my most favorite titles such as black lagoon series, beck, vampire D and so much more.
kyoto animation and bones are the follow up. for the same reasons i really like both of those companies because they have made some of my most watched and favorite titles. i'm absolutely in love with full metal alchemist and panic series. i also admire kyoto animation's high animation quality, i often hear about it and noticed it myself one day. there are so many little details here and there you notice once you rewatch a series. some of the other shows i have rewatched constantly would be scrapped princess and kanon from the respected companies.

For me the technical aspect comes second. Some series may look better then others but what I am concerned with most is story and plot. So for me my favorite companies would be those who provide the most titles that I personally enjoy and find engaging. The top 3 would probably be Madhouse, Studio Deen, and Bones. Other companies I enjoy a lot are Ghibli, Gonzo, Production IG and TBS.

I've got several favorite studios actually. My first favorite studio is Toei Animation Co. Ltd., Japan. They've produced some of my favorite anime throughout the past 3, almost 4 decades now. Fist of the North Star, Captain Harlock, Saint Seiya, Dragon Ball, Sailor Moon...so many great titles to choose from. The next up would be Kaname Productions Co. Ltd.. They've produced some of the finest animation of the 1980's and were willing to experiment with animation styles...highlights include Leda: the Fantastic Adventure of Yohko, Birth, the Humanoid, Windaria and Fandora. Studio Pierrot Co. Ltd. is my third choice. Another fine studio in the 1980's, but with an unfortunate drop off in quality in the 1990's but still, one of the best animation studios in the biz. Highlights include Star Musketeer Bismarck, Yu Yu Hakusho, Cosmo Police Justy, Dallos and Fushigi Yuugi. Finally, Tatsunoko Productions Co., Ltd. for producing some of the best quality shows in terms of both animation and storytelling for the past 30 odd years. Highlights include Mach Go Go Go, New Type Human Casshan, Red Photon Zillion, Space Knight Tekkaman Blade and Science Ninja Team Gatchaman.

They're not really my favorite, but I do like ZEXCS. They're like the harem masters, and some seasons just feel dreary without at least some insuing silliness popping out of their studio.

I'm going to go with something completely different and say SHAFT. It's those bizzarre comedy moments, falling washpans in Moon Phase, the chupacabra in Negima!?, that distinguishes the anime from its original manga and makes it SHAFT's. And the style, almost always guarnateed to get trippy on you at some point, or just totally different from what you're expecting, like, say, that monster with all the eyes in Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei. Also, even though I only found it okay, I think I have to mention Pani Poni Dash.

I have to go with Studio Sunrise, being a fan of mecha obviously helps but they have produced a lot of quality stuff in the last few decades.

Vision Of Escaflowne, Cowboy Bebop, Code Geass, Infinite Ryvius, Scryed, Planetes, the entire Gundam Franchise, classic mecha titles like Ideon, Aura Battler Dunbine etc.

They haven't been as strong since Bones split from them though, take away the 4 Goro Taniguchi directed titles and post Bones era looks very weak.

Second would Studio Bones who as I mentioned above was comprised of former members of Studio Sunrise, they have done some great things like RahXephon, Full Metal Alchemist, Wolf's Rain etc.

Third would be Madhouse who in the last few years have been amazing really. Production I.G, Kyoto Animation would be right behind them.

For me Pierrot is my longtime favorite, with Madhouse being a very close second. I give Pierrot credit for being the studio that animated my alltime favorite show, and many other classics and longtime favorites and overall standing the test of time even though sometimes their animation quality is lackluster, non-consistent and never terribly attractive. It just so happens a lot of good shows with great stories were Pierrot produced titles.

I see alot of Kyo Ani fans here. I know they aren't that new of a studio, but compared to Pierrot they are. For me they still have a long way to go before they'll impress me enough to even come close to Pierrot or Madhouse. Simply because they lack the quantity of shows that have impressed me to any particular degree (current count: 1).

Well like I always say, Quality is better than Quantity Anime smile

Even though KyoAni has still got to reach the double digits (curently produced 7 Anime series) I feel that they are far more consistent with their works than other studios that have churned out loads of anime but only a handful of good quality ones.

I would also like to know which anime from KyoAni managed to impress you?

Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, probably their most successful hit. When looking in the encyclopedia for KyoAni I noticed a lot of series credited to them. Which are the other 6 that they are officially listed as the producers of?
I'm a big fan of Kiddy Grade and Figure 17 and those two shows are listed as having work done by Kyoto Animation.

KyoAni have done

Munto OVAs (2 eps)
Full Metal Panic Fumoffu
Air + Air In Summer Special
Full Metal Panic The Second Raid + Tessa OVA
Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya
Kanon 2006
Lucky Star
Clannad (newest work, ep 1 aired on Thursday)

Only confirmed project next up is Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya 2. They have heavily hinted at doing another Full Metal Panic series during an episode of Lucky Star the author of FMP wrote the script for. They have expressed an interest in doing another Key title in Little Busters as well.

Other possibilities are them doing a continuation of Clannad like Tomoyo After It's a Wonderful Life. A new Lucky Star series would probably be easy to make in 2 years time and would print money.

Kyo Ani have come a long way since the days of 2003 when people were complaining that Gonzo weren't doing the FMP sequel because the KyoAni version couldn't possibly look as good.

As for my number one I have to go with Studio Ghibli, as long as there are Hayao Miyazaki's works, through it will remain number one on my list as my favorite studio for animation. Creating such story plus the animation will give an excellent chemistry. Thanks to Miyazaki, alot of people now love animation.
My second pick for this is Kyoto Animation for short 'KyoAni' I like their style animating and polishing the eyes of each animè character, compared from their late work Mister Ajikko and comparing for MoHS, there are alot of differences from today and from 1987 animation, there are much improvement. I have liked this production company since I started watching Kanon '06 and Air.
Third is Madhouse Studios, first of all thanks to Madhouse since they animated Death Note. A perfect company to produce such grim animation. I like their style of animation, perfect for those manga readers and adapting its genre. They have been popular since they did animate Death Note. Also, I finished Claymore since it is made by MadHouse, they produce such good animation.
Fourth but not the least is J.C. Staff, The most productive animation studio for me, I like their style of animation, they can do everything from what genre they can produce. Some of my favorite animè was made by this studio, most of my favorite are comedy and romance genre that's why I liked this production company.

They were popular before that. I mean, they animated Cardcaptor Sakura! That was very popular in Japan, and even made some headway over here.
