I have not yet read this book, although I would like to....

I wish the review had picture examples of the mix of art styles - for instance how crowds look rough, children look odd, etc...
Because I wonder if it was a conscious decision of the mangaka to blend manga style art with art forms famous from France/the Louvre (ie.impressionism, cubism, etc) ....

Impressionistic art style may explain why the crowds are rough, yet convey movement...


If this is the case, the book’s art maybe be more genius than at first glance

I'm not an expert on art, but I think I can say with reasonable certainty that applying alternate art styles was not the intention in the crowd shots I'm referring to as looking rougher.
