The puzzle-game connection for the main character is interesting, and maybe true-of-life: that a number of professional mathematicians are also climbers is a well-known phenomenon.

Based on the image, this looks like it is going to have some fan service. Guess the question to ask, is it going to be a slice of life show or a sports show; and or some sort of hybrid.

So it's Harukana Receive but with rock climbing. I can dig it.

It would have been nice timing for the show if the Olympics had happened this year, but the show might now be able to drive fans to watch sport climbing in the Olympics next year. And I haven't read the manga, so I don't know if there's any outdoors climbing there, but I hope that the anime features some. If those scenes look even half as good as anything in Free Solo, viewers' eyes could be in for a treat .

The first couple of chapters gave me the impression that this is a "untrained novice who can beat the pros" sports story. Fanservice-wise, I seem to recall noticing that climbing sequences were often drawn from a perspective that was just slightly above and in front of the protagonist. Probably not a show that I'll end up watching, but I can see how it could turn out to be something that would attract an audience.

I'm sure this show will attract a lot of six-pack fetishists!

Interesting idea for a sports anime. I'm willing to check this out.
