Unlike most of 2020 in 2021 several vaccines are rolling out.
It's good to hear that they are taking this seriously.

Anime production staff should go to the head of the line - we can't take another 2020!

I wholeheartedly disagree with you. Among the first people to get it are health care workers. With those people taken care then it can ho from there.

Doesn't look like it's being taken too seriously - restaurants to close 2 hours early and events limited to half capacity. Seems like a half-measure. Although I shouldn't say anything, my country encourages the spread.

Look they want the Olympics or not cause if this keeps up no Olympics.
Seeing the amount of foreign traffic for the event it would be difficult even if just athletes only.

I do wonder what will happen with that. Athletes-only would certainly be the safest and most controllable way, but they'd give up on making basically all the money they sunk into the facilities. Olympics tend to run at a loss anyway, but not to that degree. More and more cities and countries are deciding that it isn't worth it, and I could easily see this pushing many more to decide it is too risky for something that amounts to just temporary prestige. Vaccines are slowly being administered, but there is a good chance many attendees wouldn't be vaccinated yet, whether it's because it wasn't their turn yet, or they are from a country that is still waiting to get any allotment.

Even then that's still what at minimum 4 (I think) people from each country and for the US and China we are looking at hundreds. To say nothing of all the foreign press. Then after the Olympics you have the paralympics so yeah. We all want them but I dunno if it will happen.
