NEWS: Beyblade Burst Sparking Anime Premieres on Disney XD in U.S. in February

February 20, 2021 - TV 26x 22 minute episodes.
March 11, 2021 - YouTube Burst Official Channel 52x 11 minute episodes.

Because of the broadcasting standards on US TV, 2 11 minute episodes will be combined into one and aired as one 22 minute episode each week. Since YouTube doesn't have those kind of restrictions, the Beyblade Burst Official YouTube Channel in the US will air them as their original 11 minute length. They did the same thing with Beyblade Burst Rise. Currently their YouTube channel is at episode 46 of 52 of Beyblade Burst Rise.

Weirdly enough, I've been watching old Disney Anime hyper bumpers, and it's weird how DAnime hyper carved a small hole for anime. They aired Doraemon at one point (which got canned because Disney didn't fully own it), had Pokemon for a year before that got thrown on Netflix, and showed Yo-Kai Watch (a show that had to change voice actors midway through because of budget cuts caused by YW's inability to catch on in the West). Heck, in the early years Naruto Shippuden was shown (and got dropped because Disney slowly realized the later episodes were too violent to cut down).

Still, it is fascinating DAnime hyper is getting some anime, I'd imagine in a few years people will remember watching these shows.

The strangest anime acquisition Disney X-D ever got was Stitch!. And that was only because it had been completely ignored by the US branch for years only to suddenly appear in 2011, air four episodes across four weekday mornings in which kids were in school, and then disappear forever.

Disney now airs more anime than Cartoon Network outside of Toonami

(Heck, Disney airs more action toons than CN now - a flip from the aughts 2000s)

I always heard that was only because they were required to air it in the US to fulfill some contract obligation.

It's a bit weird to think out of all the toy brand anime shows that were once big on Saturday mornings, Beyblade is the one to outlive them all on traditional TV as Pokemon Journeys is now on Netflix, Digimon is being simulcast on Crunchyroll, and Yugioh Vrains is on Pluto TV.

Disney X-D may still have the rights to older episodes of Pokemon but Pokemon Journeys is now exclusive to Netflix in the US. I won't be surprised if future Pokemon movies will also be on Netflix.
