I prefer MTC but I'm a bit surprised that they beat the Buster Bros only because I thought BB was kind of getting the "hero" treatment in earlier episodes. Sadly, the fact that MTC won almost certainly means that Fling Posse will win their battle with Matenrou because there is more of contrast between Fling and MTC than between MTC and Matenrou. I hate the lead of Fling Posse, a hatred that grows stronger with every episode. His seiyuu's voice and inflections drive me nuts and I just don't like the character.
It was nice to see the Big Booby Chicks who lead the Party of Words. Yes, that's the kind of government I want! Stern, buxom, powerful women telling me what to do! |

We have also been told that he is some kind of double agent that is working to sabotage opposition to the government or something. It does seem like they would be too much of the cool teams if they had MTC vs Matenrou, but Buster Bros did also seem like the obvious choice to go forward, where we would probably have them against Fling Posse, so who knows. |

So yeah, Fling Posse were the obvious team to go forward, and I was honestly kind of disappointed with how Matenrou was doing in feeling like they were getting beaten without much defense, especially comparing the previous episode. Which is why I was so happy when Doppo who was especially disappointing in how he started just exploded like Retsuko and took all of Fling Posse out. |

... No, I don't anime shows are real life, why do you ask? So delighted to be wrong in my speculation that FP would advance. I sure hope Pink Hair is right in that his time is up. Also looking forward to getting the full back story on how the original super group involving Pink Hair, Doc, Bro and Yakuza got broken up. Seems like the Party of Boobies used Pink Hair to do the dirty work... something about putting Doc's assistant to sleep? I dunno. I guess will get the skinny soon enough. |

Episode 13 (finale)
They did the thing; they sang the opening song, at least I assume a second verse of it. Even if it leaves me think it was kind of unfair that it was 12 against 3. And then they were saying that they could not take on 10 of the faceless goon women from the Party of Words. The canceler seemed like the only valid reason, they saw afterwards. I was thinking it was disappointing that we did not get the OP, but in show helped. When the show got good, which I would say when it put in the most tude, it could be very good. Although it does feel like it spun its wheels a little bit when it felt like none of the rap battles had a lot of weight to them until fairly late in, when the main teams fought. The acknowledgement also has to be made clear that not understanding Japanese means that some of the effect is lost. I understand that subtitles tried their best to have lyrics that worked, but rap does mean words can be very fast and can feel like being torn in two directions between trying to read and enjoying the singing. Does look like they left things unresolved, whether they want to do another season, I am curious about how well this season did, my assumption in that selling music is something they wanted. I would probably be up for another one. Music battles are a fun genre in anime, just now thinking of how much I got into Symphogear. I would hope that they too will keep upping the spectacle. My rating will be Good (7/10), worth seeing, specifically in its novel concept, which it mostly has work. |

Re-watched S1, since I only got halfway through it all those years ago. Also wanna' get these caps out before S2, since I'll be out of town, tomorrow through Saturday (will have my Mac with me, though).
