We shall soon see. As for episode 11, I am very glad that the awkward situation regarding Okarun and his worries/anxieties was resolved (or at the very least progressed) instead of being dragged out. Jin meanwhile looks like a cool guy but his personality is rather quirky to say the least. I am very curious about that haunted house, given the show I am betting that it is probably not going to be a simple problem (though given the people that took their own lives it might be the most dangerous situation yet).

Yeah, the touches like that anatomy doll are what keep me invested in the show. I think I finally landed on "I like this show a lot, but I don't think I could ever binge watch more than two episodes in a row what with all the screaming, over-reacting, and frenetic action." But the characters have grown on me, and BTW, so has the OP. I never skip the lead song.

Episode 11
This show is made from 100% irritatium. I'm not sure I have ever watched such a nerve-jangling entity. If I ever start to suffer from being too serene and calm, I know where to come for the cure. Sheesh. Oh my GOD that Jiji guy is annoying! Like virtually every aspect of this accursed show. Still gonna keep watching though. |

Apparently, the answer to that question is a resounding, YES!!! Although I guess you could argue that Hot Granny (gotta distinguish her from Turbo Granny) is pretty chill. Flaky, but chill. |

It is simply not fitting for the show to have a calm/collected character that is not quirky in some way. As for the show ending, given that they are on their way to a supposedly deadly haunted house I am very doubtful that it is not ending in some sort of cliffhanger (plus a season 2 announcement).

That was a great first season. I was not bored for a single moment of it thanks to the zany characters and the constant over the top insanity with only a little bit of rest inbetween. The show was also very unpredictable in that it switched between epic fights, dumb jokes and tragic drama at the drop of a hat. Add great animation and solid characters to that and I consider it one of the top 5 shows of the season.
That said, the start of the show was a bit too focused on the dicks/being rapey and while I appreciate the sheer insanity of it all I can understand people bouncing of hard due to it. Pretty much every character is loud as hell and nothing is subtle. |

Episode 12 (finale - sort of)
This show has thoroughly won me over even as it continues to irk me with some of its antics. But upside is far greater than the downside, imo. I'm sure a lot of you know we'll only have to wait until next July for Round 2. Cool beans. Like the show itself, Jiji is growing on me. He and Okarun's "Momo-off" was hilarious. Final incisive observation: considering one of its storylines, how appropriate is it that the OP is performed by Creepy Nuts? By the by, this was the 1200th anime TV series I have seen to completion and I give it 8/10 (Very Good). |

I feel like the show could use some alternating pace...or maybe "peace" would be a better word than "pace" since sometimes I'd like to go more than 30 seconds without someone screaming or having an emotional meltdown. I also agree with Smurky that there's a sexual predator vibe to a lot of the monsters that's creepy in a not so enjoyable way sometimes. So many characters running around in various states of undress and it never feels sexy. Like the hot tub scene in episode 12 for example.
For me, those elements kept Dan Da Dan from being great because I watch the show like a spectacle, and I feel a bit emotionally removed from it in a way that I don't from my all time favorite anime shows. But all that said, Dan Da Dan is always a diverting spectacle with lots of strange turns and touches and flashes of genius, and I'm never bored. I may not put this show up on my greatest pedestal, but I still think the show is very fun and very good, and I'm looking forward to next season. |

Okarun and Jiji really sang the ED/OP of Slam Dunk. That was unbelievable. Would it kill for this season to just have one more episode to wrap up nicely? You can't just end up with a cliffhanger like that! I already asked how the hell this show was going to wrap with just one episode left in the bag... As for the show as a whole... love it. LOVE IT! I like random shows. Some shows just take itself too seriously or try to be so logical that they end up tripping themselves in the process. Random shows are a breath of fresh air, and this one plays it smart by keeping it to just one cour (at a time). Dunno if I want to give it a 7 or 8. Apart from that one brilliant episode, the rest has been wild and rambunctious at best. Funnily enough, this is the only show I've watched this season. Feeling a bit generous so I'll give it an 8. This show better bring its A-game for the next season too. |

Yup, that sure was more Dan Da Dan. Most other series would make the mystery of the normal seeming house a long term investigation with slowly piecing together the truth. In this show the whole thing turns into a huge brawl with the rather insane Kito family and then you end up in an underground city(?) with a glowy death worm. I honestly prefer the worm over the family since they were a wild bunch of perverts and scumbags (tanky bunch too). I do wonder what the gang fell in though, Rocket Granny looking up for a while makes me think the worm is not the end of it.
Also, it could just be me but the show still feels a bit rapey at times. |
