I know absolutely nothing about them, but when one of the members is not told in advance of such an announcement, it's obvious that something really messy is going on.

MARiA has put out a follow-up statement with some pretty important information, so I feel it should be included in the article for context.

That's sad for both of them, I really love them so I was hoping to hear them in the upcoming Mahouka Film, but it's understandable this is why companies need more transparency .

Such a shame, as I liked their work. Here's hoping they both can start something independently.
It feels like more and more Japanese agencies are being outed for this kind of behaviour. |

What a strange situation.
Comparing them to other duo units like TWO-MIX and fripSide, I always had the impression that there was something unusual about Garnidelia's collaboration, but never thought there actually was trouble. Kinda wonder who the third party that reported the trouble was. |

The following paragraph appears twice in the article.
I hate it when "powers that be" make decisions/announcements before directly contacting the people affected. Last edited by omiya on Wed Sep 03, 2025 9:33 am; edited 1 time in total |

It feels insane because like... how do you think "not paying your stars" is going to turn out? Are you really so strapped for money that you can't, or so short sighted that you would rather have that tiny bit of liquidity more than retain your talent long term? Do they hope to infinitely guilt trip them into not leaving out of loyalty to the agency and the fans? It seems like such a brain dead way of running an agency I must imagine the execs are completely out of touch with reality. |

Is Toku still not going to terminate his contract? Is Maria the only one who didn’t get paid properly? Damn, she looks like she feels sorry that Toku will be affected too, but I guess they talked to each other before the termination. It’s crazy that Toku was the one who announced the cancellation and not the agency. Maybe the agency knows they messed up big time and will get a lot of hate from fans. I wouldn’t be surprised if Toku does the same too. I just hope he at least got paid properly. Also, what is the agency thinking, not paying her properly? Are they expecting her to work for them long-term without proper compensation? The agency seems completely out of touch with reality.

This agency has violated laws and regulations in Japan, and she may take the agency to court for compensation. In fact, she is already working with a lawyer. |
