Looks like that artsy anime that will usually land on either Netflix or Disney+.

I’m hoping it doesn’t get dumped on Netflix/Prime Video/Disney+/random streaming platform that nobody’s heard of. This series is one of my favourite shoujosei manga

Naoko Yamada is a big W

In a roundabout way the Witch in Mongolia pv feels like we've accidentally gone full circle, from the films of Cartoon Saloon (Secret of Kells, Song of the Sea) picking up the reigns from Ghibli, after it started winding down, to Science Saru likely using The Breadwinner as a visual template in helping to adapt Tomato Soup's manga.

Maybe it's all coincidental but I can definitely see the threads of respect & inspiration between them. Especially for a studio like Science Saru that is clearly aware and welcoming of international animation.

I like the manga a lot too and I hope it will land on Netflix as weekly episodes, like they did with Ranma f.e.

Science Saru is one of the studios I’d trust to get Tomato Soup’s distinctive art right. This goes beyond that with the addition of color.

Also, the director of Heike Monogatari will do the story justice.

fathomlessblue is right about the apparent influences.

One of the best manga I’ve read. Seeing the lovely character designs animated is a dream come true. With that director and animation studio I just know this is going to be a 10/10.

The story of Fatima, Toregene and the children of Genghis Khan is fascinating.

The clip looks interesting and the art is unique. Reminds me a little bit of Kaiba.

My issue with Netflix is that we barely get any English home releases of their titles

Not to mention they charge exorbitant rates just for permission to use their dubs. God, I want to own Little Witch Academia and My Happy Marriage so bad!

Already had confidence in this considering it's Science SARU, and that confidence only increased with Naoko Yamada and Abel Góngora. It brings me so much joy to see a beautifully-animated shoujosei production, as we get so few nowadays.

A bit nervous it will never see a home release though, as it looks like most recent Sciene SARU titles (Tatami Time Machine Blues, Scott Pilgrim, Sanda) were on services like Disney+, Netflix, and Amazon Prime, none of who usually go out of their way to do those. (The Scott Pilgrim home release only really happened because of Bryan Lee O'Malley pushing for it I believe.)

Oh, that makes sense. I haven't thought about that!
If we're lucky, the series could land on Netflix and Crunchyroll like Spy x Family or Frieren, which both got a physical release.

Jaadugar has officially become of my top 5 most anticipated TV series to watch in 2026, including anime, animated series, and live-action shows. I liked Abel Góngora's work on Scott Pilgrim Takes Off, and looking forward to his director role in this new Science Saru anime series. The animation reminds me of Studio La Cachette, whose done work for Genndy Tartakovsky's Primal and Unicorn: Warriors Eternal series, plus one episode in season 1 of the Devil May Cry animated series.
