Good for them! About time!
Where did you read/hear about this? I want the juicy details! Were any of the fansubbers actually shut down? |

from one big distributor i won't name:
"ADV has requested that we remove a number of torrents and series from the site. As a result, the torrent listings will be unavailable until we are able to sort through them and implement a method to prevent the requested torrents and series from being automatically indexed in the future. We apologize for the inconvenience." here's the letter one of the sites got:
when did Gantz get licensed? |

Looks like they accidentally let a new acquisition slip. |

I never really trusted fansubs. They're unreliable. I prefer professional subs.

Well, in my opinion, there are some fansubs that are actually much better than the professional, but that's just me
Of course, I'll always support the US releases... when I have the money.

Since virtually all those titles are already at retail, there's no excuse for anyone to be posting any sort of fansubs of them to any site period

Well, if ADV does indeed have Gantz, nobody knew about it until now. But that aside, I agree that none of these should have been distributed in the first place. |

Heh, that's from [This URL is a known Fansub Distribution website], if any of you were wondering. How long do you think till they hit KickAssAnime? |

Wow, i'm really impressed with ADV. For me personally this is the first time that I have heard of a dubbing company cracking down on torrents, and all I have to say is it's about time. Go ADV! I'm also very pleased that Gantz is licensed!

This by no means proves that ADV doesn't have it, but FUNi has registered the domain name www.gantz.tv Registrant: FUNimation Productions, Ltd. (GUQEJQIPKD) 6851 NE Loop 820 Suite 247 Fort Worth, TX 76180 US Domain Name: GANTZ.TV Administrative Contact: Cocanougher, Daniel (22826462I) [email protected] FUNimation Productions, Inc. 6851 NE Loop 820 Suite 247 Fort WOrth, TX 76180 US (817) 788-0627 fax: (817) 788-0628 That's also a pretty small chunk of ADV's collection, you sure would think they would name ALL of their series. Kinda weird. |

Looks like they only listed the titles they know for sure have current fansub distributions. Emerje |
