I think the difference between us would be the definition of "same basic premise." Methinks it would be hard to call any two titles having the same basic premise if the only two thing they share are 1) part(s) of the title and 2) the "special" relationship between protagonists. If so then many hentai titles have "same basic premise" due to their similar and repetitive plots e.g. tentacles, "three sisters," big boobs, blackmailing, commuting trains, etc. Furthermore, titles like KonoMini and Mahoromatic are indeed having the "same basic premise," with virtually the identical cast and staff, plus similar plots and character relationships. |

In this case the series also share the same game franchise and anime production company—but oh, well. |

The Urotsukidoji manga (#2500; vintage 1986—okay, I'm the one who added the tankōbon release dates) is currently listed as adapted from the Urotsukidoji OAVs (#235; vintage 1987). The relationship is actually the reverse (manga—>anime)—would someone please be so kind as to correct this?

I don't know exactly i what way .Hack//G.U. Trilogyis related to the other .Hack anime, but now it's not linked at all.
Moreover, all .Hack anime are to be found under "#", while .Hack//G.U. Trilogy is listed under "H". |

Yes... because I've got no idea which one(s) to link.
That's another mystery that I don't understand either. |

Fixed; all .hack is now under "H". Remember when I removed all non-english non-japanese titles? At that time I also changed the sorting algorithm to group titles by their first valid alphabetic character (so "∀ Gundam" is under "G").
.hack//G.U. Trilogy was placed under H because it was added recently but the other ones were computed under the old algorithm so I had to fix them; I'd forgotten to do that at the time I changed the algorithm. |

I am guessing this is the right place to submit this correction.
I am watching the Ranma 1/2 series, OAVs and movies and noticed that Ranma 1/2 OAVs definitely are a sequel of Ranma movie 2 as the second OAV episode (the Christmas one) has Ranma giving a picture from Movie 2 to Akane as a Christmas present. Given the dates of production, the OAVs would be the sequel. |

This looks like a good thread for this, so...
The new TV anime Neo Angelique Abyss should be tied to the rest of the Angelique series as a spinoff. They're all from the same video game series about girls named Angelique going on ... sparkly shoujo adventures. As its name implies, Neo Angelique is very different from the other Angelique series, so it's not really a sequel or prequel... just a very similar spinoff (the location "Arcardia", where the new TV series takes place, has shown up before in other Angelique titles, too...) Thanks~ (on a "not related to related anime" note, though, I just noticed that the picture used for the Angelique manga doesn't even have the two main characters in it, so I'll try adding a new one~) edit: new picture added..! Take your pick. |

I have watched the entire series of Legend of the Galactic Heroes and the related anime. Here is the "order" that the various series go in:
1) Legend of the Galactic Heroes Golden Wings (Prequel to 4) 2) Legend of the Galactic Heroes A Hundred Billion Stars, A Hundred Billion Lights(Sequel to 1, prequel to 4) 3) Legend of the Galactic Heroes Spiral Labyrinth (Sequel to 2, prequel to 4) 4) Legend of the Galactic Heroes Overture to a New War (prequel to 5) 5) Legend of the Galactic Heroes My Conquest is the Sea of Stars 6) Legend of the Galactic Heroes (sequel to 5) Based on the production dates, I should have the relationships correct for them to be entered in the database. I have also submitted a number of summaries and episode titles for the various Legend of Galactic Heroes series that were missing. |

Anejiru The Animation (#7438) is an alternative retelling (or remake) of Younger Sister Juice (6455)—per the plot summaries, the story line is the same (guy needs to collect the "juice" of his three stepsisters), but the characters (and their ages) are different.
Getchu.com lists them as the same franchise. |

Wait, wait, is that "order" production or story/chronological? Could you use arrows or something similar to show their relationships? TIA.
Linked with "related" for now. I'll look for more info later (it's business hour here and we've got female coworkers). |

The numbers are the order of the story. The Sequel/Prequel show what order they were made in. Using the numbers from previous post, the story order is 1 -> 2 -> 3 -> 4 -> 5 -> 6 Production order is 5 -> 6 -> 4 -> 1 -> 2 -> 3 So the first anime made was the Conquest movie, followed by the 110 ep series. Then Overture was made, fitting in before Conquest. They then made Golden Wings, and the 2 Gaiden series (Hundred Billion Stars and Spiral Labyrinth), which fit before Overture. I believe my prequel/sequel labels should match what I have seen on other entries regarding sequencing. |
