i'm currently rereading Heavy Metal Warrior Xenon an absolute classic that i'd love to get reprinted & was the 4th series VIZ ever licenced.
i first read it age 8 (give or take few years) with it being the first time i noticed a difference between western comics & manga although i wouldn't find out that term until was 12 as i simply called them eastern comics as the internet was still considered a luxury expense in my city back then. |

I am currently reading several different Gundam Manga.
Gundam Thunderbolt: Which I look forward to coming out roughly yearly anymore. Once you get used to the odd timeline, the series is quite enjoyable. Plus it seems like its constantly topping itself in more and more grandiose battles and Mobile Suits. Gundam Seed Eclipse. A really nice interquel to the CE verse, paticularly in how it focuses on different characters. CE is a rather neat world, and it's great to see more of what's going onspoiler[We seems to being entering the final battle territory between Hori and Giraud, so it'll be neat to see how and when this wraps up] CCA Beltrochika's Children. I waited a long time for this and it's great, I can't wait to read the second volume and see what they change from the movie. It's nice that they keep largely the same story, with some minor changes, plus the different mech designs are cool. I like both the Sazabi and Nightengale equally, I'm on the fence about wether I like the manga or anime version of RX-93 v(Nu) Gundam more, but I defenitly perfer the Jagd Doga over the Psycho Doga. Gundam MSD Cucuruz Doan's Island. I never thought this manga was going to get released internationally. It's great! The story is very different from the movie, and has a ton of cool mech designs( I love the FSD Gundam), and a lot of action. They also develop Doan's former comrads a lot more than in the movie, though in all caes you still see why Doan makes his decision. All in all its great, and I'm looking forward to getting volume 2. |

Reading the 1 TPB of Area 88 VIZ made which only collects 6 chapters of the 52 they translated back in the 1980s-1990s. They translated chapters 1-36 with help of Eclispe comics who published them western comic style & after eclipses bankrupcy 37-42 were printed by VIZ in the same way & 43-52 being exclusive to the animerica magazine. Considering that they used to publish the 60s Kamui manga & that finally got a re-license I'm hopeful we can get area 88 back in print as it took me 3 months to convince an ebay seller that normally onlyshipped to Ameriica to sell me the volume as I have deep nostalgia for the 80s OVA & the song How Far To Paradise being one of the my favoruite songs not just of anime but music in general
