I hope you guys notice that it specificly excludes comics in the fine print.

Still a good coupon though, I'll send a copy to everyone at work. Very Happy

I don't think the discount will apply to anime books, since manga would likely be considered a comic. You might be able to get a book about anime if it not actually a comic (e.g. Manga: 60 Years of Japanese Comics), if it is an anime art book, or a how to draw book. The last two are a bit of a gray area.

Yes, it does. I just got back from Borders a few minutes ago and the clerk readily accepted the coupon. I bought Chrono Crusade Vol. 5 and DearS Vol. 3. They discounted the Chrono book from $9.99 to $7.49 so I only had to pay $18.79 ($17.48 for the two books plus 7.5% Ohio state tax of $1.31) instead of the full $21.48 ($19.98 + sales tax of $1.50).

Manga is treated as a paperback book, so you can use the coupon to get the discount. Also, I don't know if this will apply to other Borders stores across the country, but after I bought my books, I received a coupon good for 30% off the regular price of one paperback book (including manga), but it's valid from August 18 thru August 21, 2005.

A comic is like, archie, batman, superman etc.

A graphic novel is a totally different thing.

It depends on the Clerk/Manager.

I find that if your nice to them, pick-up after yourself, and are polite whenever there is a problem, some of the clerks will help you get discounts.

well also, we've been able to use these coupons on manga for a while now, it would be really dumb if they just one day decided we couldn't.

I know i wouldn't buy in that case.

I've just used the coupon on Ray Vol.1 (I've actually never heard of that manga before) at Borders.
At first I thought the clerk wouldn't accept the coupon because she stared at the back of the book for a very long time (and I thought she'd check if the label says "comic" Smile )... After some time I realised that she was just very interested in the manga! Very Happy

So thanks for the link Smile

Okay, so i'll edit this thread to be the catch-all for any future Borders Coupons.

So here is the latest: 30% Off the Regular Price of ONE Item.

http://www.bordersstores.com/features/feature.jsp?file=coupon_survey2

Expires 9/14/05, one per customer, yadayadayada......Oh, DVD's are 20% off with the coupon. I suggest if you wanna get 30% off coupon for DVD's, get the Borders Reward card.

And I've been told that the Buy 4, Get 5 Free Promo will extend to being Manga Exclusive sometime soon.
