The Yu-Gi-Oh! manga always sells well because they each come with an exclusive card. (at least the initial editions do) I find it more surprising that the Lone Wolf and Cub omnibus beat out One Piece.

LW&C is known quite well by comic readers that aren't typical manga readers. Considering this is the first time Dark Horse has published it in a readable form, I'm not surprised it's selling well. Still need to order my own copy and get to reading it. Bought a couple of the pocket-sized versions years ago and decided to just wait it out for a better version.

Ah, so it really that surprising at all. I've seen it in stores before but I didn't know how well known it was over here.

It's worth it, at least to me, to save +$2 on one of those cards with S&H from an online trading card seller in comparison to the hair under $10 that Viz Media charges for one volume. And actually, based on my last recollection, these volume promos start at $4.99 at release, in which case you'd save almost 50%... Why you wouldn't do that if you just want the card, I don't know.

The low price and new size are all fine and dandy, but I can't believe that Dark Horse is still putting out flopped manga in 2013.
They'd given Appleseed the unmirroring treatment before...

This one has more mainstream** than manga readers.
(**People who aren't used to reading right to left.)

Yeah, most of Lone Wolf and Cub's readers are more into US comics. I don't think many manga fans touch it in the first place because they think it looks "too old."
