If the franchise is fading into obscurity it's not because of the Manga but because Moyashimon Returns was so freaking mediocre and lacklustre.

I bought Are You Alice? and I agree with this review. It was interesting and I liked the art, but...The story is kind of incomprehensible at this point. I get the gist, but the storytelling needs work. Eh, maybe it's just a 'first volume set-up' thing. (Hopefully.)

I think I can easily imagine an American version of "Moyashimon." It can take place in the Midwest,states like Minnesota,Wisconsin,etc. It could have an American guy who can see bacteria. Heck,they can invite the manga creator to America to have the cute little bacteria dance around on screen. And to be honest,I liked the cover of the first "Moyashimon" manga in which the American flag had the bacteria in the blue field instead of stars. I thought it was cute.
