Ok that question is dumb. But I've seen most of the good classic type stuff, like Princess Mononoke, Spirited Away, Nausicaa, Grave of the Fireflies... etc etc... I'm looking for something new! I need help!!

I'm currently watching RahXephon and its been pretty good so far, the first episode seemed alot like a normal mech anime but after watching episode 3 I'm starting to think other wise.
If you want movies, i suggest Macross Plus, even if you haven't seen any of the macross series you'll still like it alot. It's very much a story of a love triangle and a compition between old friends/enemies. It was one of my first and most memorable anime movies and I'm always up too watch it again. If you're not looking for anything specific other than it being "new" than just read the top 10 favorite list. |

In case you haven't read my old post (a year has passed? Time flies by): I didn't shed a single drop of tear after watching GotF, but I cried out loud (for the first time in my life after watching any TV/movie or reading a book) after watching NTHT. |

I suggest you give a try to Last Exile: it's original and familiar in the same time with a cool plot/setting and some nice characters as well as very good-looking visuals. I'm pretty sure that almost everyone around will agree with me...

I didn't cry for either....it was sad but I wouldn't cry over it. And IMO I think grave of the fireflies is a bit more sad then NTHT dealing with the little sister and all but didn't cry for either... Anyways back on topic. A show I recommend watching is Gunparade March. It's a good romantic comedy with some action using mecha. There's a war with aliens but it's only a background story most of it deals with two teenagers and there friends trying to get them together. I laughed quite a bit when watching this show..so, you should look into it. If you want to watch an anime movie...I recomend Vampirehunter D if you haven't seen it. It's a about a vampirehunter protecting a girl that was biten by a vampire. Has great character development and an excellent story. Graphics and dubbing are some what dated, since it was a 1984(I think) anime. But if you haven't seen it yet this one I fully recommend. There is also a second one known as Vampirehunter D:Bloodlust. Which has much improved graphics and dubbing but that's to be expected. Storyline is equally good but I say watch first one first then the second becuase the second one gives away a spoiler that's a surprise at the end of the first film. Both are based off books as well that have been recently coming out. |

Well, it would certainly be nice if you could give a bit more of an area of interest. But for recent releases by North American companies, check out Bamboo's Shelf Life.
A few new shows: Le Portrait de Petite Cossette (3 episode OAV series) Gankutsuou: The Count of Monte Cristo (TV series) Kakurenbo - This is actually a bit too brief (25 minute short movie), but I enjoyed it nonetheless. Hide and Seek just gets a twist with kids, demons, and really cool fox masks. R.O.D. - It's another 3 episode OAV series (I usually only buy short series, so my list reflects that) that isn't so recent, but I still enjoyed it. I think being able to manipulate paper is a very interesting ability... Boogiepop Phantom - If you're into seeing what happens when kids do drugs...Well, I though the series was interesting when I saw it a few years ago. |
