If you are talking about the Movie, then YES, about the TV show, then NO.
The Movie was well animated, had a lot of cool fight scenes and (I thought) had a interesting story. The TV show on the other hand does have nice animation for a TV production, the story seems very weak up to the first four eps.

heh...ninja scroll brings back horrible feelings of wanting to throw up...I liked the movie and all, but *shudder* all that blood is not for me... plus when I first saw it, I wasn't expecting soo much blood and sex, I was still relatively new to anime... I think it might have slightly scarred me :/ ...but I did really like the sword fight in the bambo forest...
