|
I heard there was an older guyver anime series? how is that series any good? Also I heard this series is a remake of the old series is that true or a totally different story?

Yes that was one of the first anime OAV series I ever watched and I have been a big fan of the Guyver ever since. The monster designs for the new Guyver are pretty similar to the old one, and they are both done really well but for a fairly old series, the monster designs are not cheesy at all in the original. The new series (which is a TV series) looks like it is a remake with new story elements and newer animation.
Prior to Manga Ent releasing the original on DVD in 2003, the only North American release of the Guyver was done dubbed and although lots of people remember it as a very bad dub, it features the voice of my favorite NA voice actress: Melissa Charles (she also does the voice of Ed from Cowboy Bebop). If you like a monster show with suspensful action and a hero+cute classmate romance then you should definitely check out the original The Guyver. |
