Okay, now I'm worried. First of all, we hear that Yasuhiro Imagawa is not involved with the new Giant Robo anime. Of course, I can forgive him because Bartender will kick ass.
Now, I'm not going to pass judgment yet, but... http://gr-anime.com/about_introduction.html Oh dear. I was hoping for this to continue the plot of the OVA, which is a masterpiece, but this series looks more like a remake of the original manga... and I hate the mecha designs so far. Aside from Daisaku, none of the other characters have shown their faces. 
Of course I'll buy this the second it comes out, because I love Giant Robo like a mother, but already I'm worried that this may ruin the reputation of the original OVA. Now, I will hold out hope that this series will be good on its own, but for it to surpass the original is impossible. I can't think of any anime I've liked more than the original. Sigh. |
