Technically (as I'm sure you know), ODM gear is quite an exact science. Probably still unrealistic, but at least they do try to tackle it in the halfway "Currently disclose-able information" bits.

apparently the manga author had an engineer as an advisor for some of the stuff he made up. I still don't know if this falls in the realm of realistic but unpractical (exoesqueletons in war) or in the realm of this would totally work if X thing was not an obstacle (like the power source of mechas).

also, could tno the article's author find a darker photo, I still kinda can make up what's going on in the picture.

Though it's probably easier to sell a replica weapon than something that can legitimately be used as a weapon. Not to mention it's probably a good idea to idiot-proof something like this, because you KNOW someone is going to try to mod it to make it actually work as intended. Razz
