Hmmm. Sounds like the movie is going to be condensing plot points. (In the original manga, Alita got into Motorball in part because spoiler[Hugo died], not because Hugo had showed her the ropes.)
Not that I have a big problem with that. Any reasonable live-action adaptation of the manga couldn't be done literally, and that seems like a reasonable compromise. |

Good for cast updates but we still have to wait until 2020 or later before it's finally released. Honestly, I would just scrap it if it's taking this long to produce the movie.
