Is it using the previous artstyle before the change in 2014? It doesn't seemed drained and faded out.

I believe it's a different character designer from before. But it looks real similar, it's hard to tell the difference. Either way, the last anime revival looked similar to how the first movie was. We can hope this movie's visuals will be a sign of things to come. I'll gladly re-experience the current story arc if it's not dull and drab like before.
