The "hentai" here is also wordplay. What is in the title is 編隊, pronounced hentai and meaning "formation," like a formation of aircraft. Obviously it will make people think of the other one, 変態. (That one itself can be used to mean transformation, so there's often double entendres that way.) The pun involving HxEros and "heroes" and "H x Eros" is also obvious.

Matsuoka as the lead doesn’t surprise me in the slightest, but the cast as a whole looks pretty nice. I’ll keep an eye on this one whenever it comes out.

Oh boy. I am most likely in the minority on this but Matsuoka's voice bothers me in whatever anime he's in. I'll have to suck it up and deal with it.
