This is a nice manga, but I think it has already said everything it had to say: at this point every new chapter may be just a reiteration of the same concepts and jokes.

If I remember correctly I think I read somewhere that the author wanted it to go in a certain direction, but the publisher disagreed, that being part of the reason for the long stall(story)/hiatus(publishing). Don't remember where though, or maybe I'm confusing it with another series?(I'm pretty sure it was about this series)...

To make his manga more compelling the author could probably do only one thing at this point, but it's unlikely it will be well received by the fans.

This won't affect the Seven Seas release, will it? I still have nightmare flashbacks to when Hayate X Blade shifted to Shueisha and it never got finished here.

Well it could be...After all they have to make new deals with the new publisher, and if they ask too much or Seven Seas makes an offer that doesn't seem reasonable enough...

what direction you think it would take? you ca put tags in it so it wont potentially spoil none readers.

Well, the author for example could decide to make it more action-oriented, and to do this spoiler[the characters shold all go back to their original world, and maybe the main guy and his boss too.] In the end it a matter of changing the "status quo", or adding new characters to keep the story fresh, but you can't do it for long (well, some manga managed to run for more than 20 volumes repeating the same jokes and situations over and over again, but this doesn't work for all manga). We'll see what the author will decide to do with the new publisher, but I don't think it will last more than a couple of volumes.

The author is known for drawing alot of chub and weight gain fetish porn, not hard to see where this one will go, on a softer scale, but you know exactly what its about and people love it.
