It really is such a shame. I wonder if it was the overwork. He was directly involved in the last three episodes, and they were phenomenal.

But in related news, I wouldn't say this is the series finale or a "full series". The final episode ended with a 30-second preview for a potential second season, and the official series Twitter followed up with a message about a continuation (more along the lines of "Shiki and the others' adventure will continue" than an official confirmation). From the looks of things, they'll be pressing forward with a new director.

That's awful, I wouldn't be surprised if it was karoshi. RIP

In this case, the phrase "full series" is meant to distinguish his work on Edens Zero from the individual episodes he directed for other series.

Understood. But even so, I wished to clarify that there is already intent for a new season, so the final episode shouldn't be classified as a series finale.

Man. This is the kind of sad news that makes us wonder what was going on behind the scenes.

I heard the anime adaptation was pretty good.
