It really is such a shame. I wonder if it was the overwork. He was directly involved in the last three episodes, and they were phenomenal.
But in related news, I wouldn't say this is the series finale or a "full series". The final episode ended with a 30-second preview for a potential second season, and the official series Twitter followed up with a message about a continuation (more along the lines of "Shiki and the others' adventure will continue" than an official confirmation). From the looks of things, they'll be pressing forward with a new director. |

In this case, the phrase "full series" is meant to distinguish his work on Edens Zero from the individual episodes he directed for other series. |

Understood. But even so, I wished to clarify that there is already intent for a new season, so the final episode shouldn't be classified as a series finale. |
