I don't particularly care about LADS, but if I did, I think the thing that would bother me most is that part of cancelling the plan was that they also aren't going to add a new character at all. Seems like the company were mad that players were mad, and so they took the ball and went home. I suppose I'm not surprised by that after seeing they also make Infinit Nikki, which certainly had its own issues. Plenty of streamers I saw play it a lot dropped it entirely after they retconned the early game to where they felt like it was negated and they lost interest.

FEH definitely appears to still be a winner, but I wonder what the numbers on Pokemon Masters EX look like at this point. I feel like I only see hype for the latest story expansions and what have you from the most hardcore of fans, but I'm not the best judge of these things.
In regards to FGO, it should also be noted that preparations are ramping up for the original Japanese release's 11th anniversary as well.

Yeah, in all the hullabaloo about LADS there were comments about how the current situation falls into a pattern of Papergames/Infold antagonizing players with boneheaded moves (one example highlighted in the column being the thing with Mr. Love and Shaw). For grizzled veterans the biggest differentiator in LADS' case being just how obscenely popular it is, which pushed the story into the mainstream and catching even the government's attention (which in turn may have led to Papergames' kind of extreme reaction of cancelling their plans entirely instead of trying to ride it out).

A few corrections to the LADS section:
Valko is a Chairman, not CEO.
"...when updates to the main story have been few and far between (with the most recent being way back in January, and only one in the entire year of 2025)"
The main story updated January 2025, May 2025, and January 2026. Valko would have been the next major main story arc update this year.
I do agree that main story updates are few, but it's been more than what your statement suggests.
This is of my own opinion, not a correction: Many fans today are still rallying together to bring Valko back. We understand that Papergames is in hot waters right now and they likely made the cancellation statement in panic. We're all waiting for an official statement from them regarding the future roadmap and we're not writing him off entirely as "dead" as he is still very much alive in our hearts. On a positive note, players have donated to wolf conservations worldwide in Valko's name as part of our campaigns to bring him back :)
