I've got so many Switch games over the past week that I can't even keep track! Life is Strange: Arcadia Bay Collection, Persona 5 Royal, Alan Wake Remastered, Syndrome, Prodeus, AI: The Somnium Files - Nirvana Initiative and then from PlayAsia I got Harmonia and Needy Girl Overdose.

For a late release I think P5R had a good debut, some people expected higher numbers given the requests for P5 to appear on the Switch, but we have to consider that P5R is a 3-year old game, which itself is a upgrade of a 6-year old game, most people in Japan have already played P5 (or maybe watched the anime) I can't imagine people double dipping just because it's on a different console. All in all, the numbers are quite similar to those of P5 Strikers, though below those of Shin Megami Tensei V (143k), but they're better than other Atlus' games on the Switch like Catherine Full Body and P4 Arena. Compared to other 3rd Party late ports, Demon Slayer sold 90k copies, Dragon Quest XI S 303k and DQX 100k, but those ports were of more recent games and bigger IPs (at least in Japan), though P5R sold more than the recent NieR port on Switch.
We must also take into account the international market, Atlus said that most of the sales of came from foreign markets, and it seems P5R is doing great digitally on the Switch and Xbox.
In the end, I think P5R would have done a bit better if came on all consoles when it was first released, and I'm not sure if this will convince Atlus to develop P6 as a multiplatform title, perhaps Sony will try to obtain exclusivity rights like they did with Final Fantasy, however SEGA has said they're focusing on multiplatform releases, only time will tell

So happy to see Monster Rancher do so well, even if it's mainly due to the Ultraman license this time.
