They've been on a hot streak for a while with some of their programs as of late. I hadn't heard of Doctor Stone until one of their shows about how different anime production studios work aired, and suddenly Dr Stone has become one of my favorite newer shows in recent years. There was a Hideo Kojima thing on semi-recently I still need to make time for saved on my DVR, and some of their drama shows like Kiriko's Crime Diary have been some really fun/light J-Dramas to watch with the family (subs preferred but they actually also run dubs too).
They did something like a 24/72 hour documentary where they stuck a camera crew in a model kit shop and got to talk to all of the people buying military ship and Gunpla stuff. There's a documentary that should still be up on their NHK World website to watch for free about one of the designers of a popular capsule toy line that shifted into making a special Gundam kit.... just all around it seems like there's always something interesting to watch each week/month. I'm legit gonna be angry if my cable provider ever drops their channel, but you can usually download it and watch live with their NHK World app too, all for free. |
