Agreed for the most part, though the protagonist actually seems to have his own personality and own personal goals which is a step up from a lot these of this type of series. I do like the princess' initial interest with the protagonist is because they both share the same aesthetic interests. |

You know what, I am fine with this.
I saw more than enough of these modern "cheap" fantasy anime like isekai, or kicked out of party, villainess, etc., to know that they are enjoyable and relaxing to me. Funny enough, I still haven't gotten into those most famous titles like Re:Zero, Konosuba, Overlord, Tanya the Evil, etc. |

There was no harem stuff at all in season 1, a major reason why it was a surprise (minor) hit. They did play up harem stuff in season 2 but that was likely due it only getting a tiny budget (I did say minor hit) causing them to abandon the stuff set up by the last 2 arcs of season 1 in favor of anything and everything that could be used to fill time as cheaply as possible. Who knows if it was anywhere near that prominent in the source material, if it was present at all. |
