Agreed. Chopper looks really creepy to me. I almost wish they went with an Ewok-esk fursuit or animatronic. I think practical effect would be more charming. Make him like Gizmo from Gremlins.

Chopper's introduction and first story arc isn't exactly pleasant. He's got to work through some trauma before becoming the smiling, nose-chopstick dancing little guy we love.

I think Chopper looks about as good as would be expected for live action, but to be fair the fishmen were definitely never supposed to be cute, haha. Going for a 3D Chopper will probably make his transformations into different forms easier, if nothing else.
