I've been wanting an anime adaptation of Mao for awhile now. I just hope it lasts longer than the Rin-ne anime did.

I always Imagined Mao having the voice of Kaito Ishikawa while reading the mangaa so it's a surprise to see Yuki Kaji. Maybe I was too influenced by Rinne and thought they would reuse the main cast, like Marina Inoue as Nanoka

Oh yeah, it would be so funny if M.A.O ended up voicing yet another character in this anime.

I'm going to hold out hope that since it's an adaptation and not an original, it won't be gutter trash like Yashahime.

Let’s be real, they’re going to get a remake eventually. You just have to wait.

Yeah, last I checked the Urusei Yatsura and Ranma 1/2 remakes did pretty well. It's likely just a matter of time until they get to Maison Ikkoku.

I'm more surprised that it took them this long to make a MAO anime, especially since it's been going on for so long but it doesn't seem to register much with folks. Here's hoping the anime catches on.

Yashahime was great, go cry me a river. You know people are allowed to enjoy stuff? That's what I did.

Yashahime is still one of my favorite anime of this decade, and that won't change.

Should be noted the director was also previously involved with InuYasha as well as an Episode Director, Storyboarder, and even did some of the Opening/Endings. So I'd argue that Yashahime should not be an indicator of whether or not things will turn out alright. It should be a better situation since it's less original material and adapting material this time around as a base, like you said.

No, though it got really really far in. As in, volume 35 out of 40.

You can enjoy whatever you like. I'm still going to call it garbage if I consider it such.

There's a pretty big difference between being an episode director and the director in charge of the project. And Yashahime is not only the main indicator of his ability to gather a team in the latter case, but it's an example of him not being brought back for the second half of a big project

Oh good another adaptation of a manga with a toxic relationship. If this is anything like the others it will feature the following
Boy and girl bicker and won't admit their true feelings
Various girls all want to be with boy but he refuseels
Annoying supporting cast that exist to push boy and girl together.
Bland villains

Why her work is getting so popular I'll never know.
