Thats disappointing but about what I expected for an anime fighter. I've been begging for a HxH fighter for years but I was hoping it would be from ArcSys like DBZ.

Seems like only really hardcore Hunter x Hunter fans would get something out of it...and maybe not even then.

HxH is still my favourite anime of all time even now.... but even I find it difficult to justify buying this game especially at such a high price. Its honestly baffling how much they're charging for such barebones content. The season pass & timeline for future content is just laughable. It'd be a miracle if the game even lasted a year.

I'm not really big into fighting games but I was honestly considering getting the game ever since its first announcement but the stuff they've shown before the game's release did not give me high hopes. I also remembered it being delayed & left without an actual release date until like a few months before it came out.

On the other hand, even Jump Force turned out to be a much better game than this despite its many problems. Atleast that had a fun concept going for it with the Jump Avengers angle.It also looked a lot better than this game regardless of how you might feel about unreal engine graphics.

Correction: The game was developed by Eighting, best known for Tatsunoko Vs. Capcom, Marvel Vs. Capcom 3 and the Naruto: Clash of Ninja series and although the company is not credited in the game itself for some reason, they were part of the original announcement and their staff are listed in the credits.

Bushiroad Games is publisher in Japan while Arc System Works is publisher internationally and as for it's problems, this is on Bushiroad since they have a reputation for low-budget games they have released plus on the topic of netcode, it should be noted that they were originally going to release it delay-based, which nobody likes, so that's why it got delayed for a bit.
