I've read this series, and it's straight buns. Just terrible in almost every way. It especially stopped being interesting around the time the childhood friend who rejected the main protagonist almost got raped.
The main protag is okay, the childhood friend is okay, the harem sucks, and there's far too much pantyshots.

That spoilered part was just wrong, especially the part where she believed for just a moment that she deserved it.
To me, the childhood friend was the only entertaining character because she was the only character with any semblance of personality beyond "I'm the most famous author in the world, but I'm really modest about it" (the MC), or "I'm in love with and/or supportive of the most famous author in the world" (pretty much everyone else who isn't a creepy villain), and it was just plain funny watching her run herself ragged with the mental gymnastics of denying that the man of her dreams was the shoddy-looking MC she just dumped. It just seemed like the right time to tap out after she gave him a proper apology and joined the harem.[/spoiler]

I think I'm interested after your description. Hopefully it gets an adaptation.

Trust me, avoid it. After that part it gets boring. The harem sucks because the only decent character in the harem is the childhood friend.
