not only did season two hit Hulu without the show's (very good) English dub despite it airing day and day in every other region

For the first three episodes at least. Episode 4 still does not have an English dub, neither does episode 5. It would be nice if ANN could reach out to Disney to see what is going on (or maybe they already have and Disney won't say) because the baffling way this show has been handled so far has been news-worthy.

I appreciate Jairus' love of the show but I can't help but feel it should have been assigned to someone who could have actually watched as it was released instead of adding a 4-week delay on the reviews. Especially considering how late the show already is.

I want to blame the Olympics but I’m not sure what the correlation would actually be.

Gooosh this. I'd love to know what was happening. Even just a "Dubs will be 2 [or whatever] weeks late" or just anything to help give any time of time frame on what is going on.

To be able to chose someone as you say would require some actual communication from Disney as to when the show is and is not being broadcast. For some reason Disney are just really bad at this with Anime.

Really don't get why the legal streaming was delayed for so long in the West to the point where we're so many episodes behind.

This show deserves better.

Just the US. Everywhere else is getting it day and date. I'm assuming it's something Hulu specific since it's on Disney+ everywhere else? We also finally got the English dub for episode 4 - a little over a week late - but still not for episode 5. Although, interestingly, the French dub for episode 5 is out.

I love the new OP. Especially the group routine at the end. It looks so good.

I am happy that the show is finally streaming in the US as it is a favorite of mine. I'd have torrented it if I'd had to, but it is one of the few shows I watch on Hulu so I can at least feel I am getting my money's worth every week now. Laughing

Personally, I am fine with the reviews running concurrently with the US broadcasts as I would prefer not having to risk being spoiled about already-aired episodes in the Episode Review Homepage blurbs.

The S2 OP is really great.

Why was the "Watch & Rate" moved to Friday? And why is it weeks behind the broadcast? Isn't the Disney+ release on the same day? At least I've been watching those episodes on the day they aired on Japanese TV as well.

Because Hulu's release in the US (and as a result Jairus' reviews) are a month behind. NGL, the handling of this show - not just by Disney/Hulu, but by ANN too - has completely killed my interest, and this was the show I had been most looking forward to this season. We can't even rate the current episodes anymore. We'll just have to try and remember what happened in which episode and how we felt about it next month.

I think season 2 has been a delight so far, and I agree with everyone else that Hulu’s mishandling of it has been terrible, but if this really killed your interest, you couldn’t have been that hyped about it.

Regarding Inori’s performance, what the anime missed from the manga was that their strategy was not one based on making no mistakes, but one of increasing her GOE for each sequence. I am a little sad they missed this as it draws from her coaches experience as an ice dancer. Still was a great episode though!

Honestly kind of worried about Hikaru having Jun as a coach.

It's not that he's not qualified to coach, but he's molding her so much into basically his second coming in a dress that I'm worried it's clearly going to emotionally cripple her like he is to anything that doesn't involve skating. But I guess she's already somewhat similar to that and seen more as a "beast" than a human, so it's why they gel so well together.

I'm mildly annoyed at where they stopped this season. I imagine it's because they wanted a movie budget to do the All-Japans - and I can understand the argument for that - but it's frustrating that they stopped at 9 episodes when they could have easily covered the All-Japans in three or four more. We are essentially going to have to wait until 2027 to get what should have been the end of this season.

Yeah I’m sick of this trend of adapting the next part of a story as a movie where I’m stuck waiting a year after the theatrical run for it to come to home video.
