Stop motion films Hidari and Sunny have become my most anticipated films to watch for the end of the 2020s, along with Cartoon Saloon's Kindred Spirits in 2028.
Though they may actually release at the start of the 2030s for whenever they get licensed for theaters and home video release.

I’m really excited for these stop-motion projects too. The animation style already looks unique and refreshing compared to most modern releases.
Hopefully the long wait will be worth it, because stop-motion usually takes a huge amount of time and effort to produce properly.

I remember the Kickstarter for this (which was a “help us get out the gate”, not “we’ll promise you a finished project” offering). I can’t help but believe Keanu Reeves’ involvement will bring serious funding to the production.

I wonder if he gave them a good rate because it’s an interesting project. Just seems like this could otherwise eat up a lot of the budget on a full-length stop-motion film. But yeah, then again, maybe the extra publicity could earn more than the cost.
