I've been hurting for a good anime for weeks, now! I just finished Trigun all the way through for the first time and absolutely loved it. The action was superb, I adored the character progression, and I couldn't get enough of the plot/setting.
I was hoping I could get a few opinions on a good anime to watch for a while!
I really don't like the anime with children or excessively childish behavior being the main character(s), but I don't like the ultra-loner emo type crap either. Vash, from Trigun was a perfect example of a happy medium there. Spike from Cowboy Bebop is another great example of a strong, yet realistic character. I like to see a lot of violence, but the excessive gore just starts to bore me, when its obvious that it was made for shock value or whatever. I like to see a little romance start to build in a story as well, but I don't like it to start over-taking the plot line... Perfect example (don't mean to flame) being Inu-Yasha, where the childish awkward scenes take up most of the show whilst the 13 year old fan-girls watching this, blush for hours on end, clutching their 'chibi dolls' or whatever. (Always on in the middle of the night =/ ). I also seem to prefer male main characters (Call me sexist, but I tend to prefer the male character development, than female). Also, I like futuristic or past settings... I don't tend to like modern plot-lines as much. Guess a good summary would be: I'm looking for a semi-serious anime with a bit of comic-relief here and there, with a lot of quick-paced action, that doesn't seem overly focused on gore, or romance, with male main character(s).
Please assist! No suggestions will go un-noticed! Thank you for your help!
