For those who don't know, it's a dvd by Bangzoom Entertainment with TONS of interviews (& other cool things) with English dub voice actors.
Anyways, I was just wondering if anyone here besides me thinks the dvd has been way overdue for it's release date. I just checked the Adventures In voice acting page on Bangzoom's site, & the closest I can get to knowing the dvd's realse date is that the webpage states that it's "coming soon". Problem is, it's said that for somebit over 1 1/2 years now, & I'm starting to kind of suspect that they're not gonna release the dvd ever.. Oh, & does anyone know what it mens by "promotion code"? It's at the top part of the webpage. I just can't help but wonder what that's about.... (NOTE: Sorry if this is in the wrong forum or for some reason doesn't belong at all. You can move it or whatever else is necessary, if at all.) |

I read about Adventures in Voice Acting a while back on wikipedia while checking out info on my favorite dub actors and have also been wondering when it would come out. I'm guessing that signing up for release information gives you a promotional code or something but the link on the site doesn't work. The voice acting workshops sure seem interesting though.

Wasn't AiVA scheduled to show at New York Anime Festival last December? Did anyone get to see it?

I just stumbled upon this, and couldn't resist. I'm very happy to let you know that an announcement is about to be made with an actual release date! In fact, it might be a lot sooner than you think!
You are right - it's gone on waaaay too long. Never meant it to take this long. But thanks for hanging in there. I don't think you'll be disappointed. If you have signed up, you'll be getting some information very soon now. Eric P. Sherman Bang Zoom! Entertainment, Inc.

It certainly sounds interesting to me. I haven't listened to a dub for years (not because I have anything against them, but as part of my preliminary seiyuu training), so I'm curious as to what techniques they use to screen applicants and refine the lines before the final release.
At the very least, there's almost no way it can be worse than Love GetChu. Edit: Speaking of voice acting: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KoGoV5TDfkc&feature=related Good to see more fandubs. Hopefully that'll help revive the anime market in the West. |

Can't wait to add it to my collection. @ HyugaHinata: Not to sound like a spoiler but I doubt fandubs will reinvigorate the anime market, at least not the legal and licensed market. The bootleg/fansub market might get a boost from them though. Don't get me wrong, fandubs can be very good things. The parody dubs can be insanely good. (If Geneon had put Casey and Friends on as an extra for When They Cry/Higurashi no Naku Koroni, it would have been awesome.) |
