They are only drawing but what makes them so hot? they don't really resemble real people. But still everyday I run into one more person that loves some Anime character. So is my group the only one out there that loves a f*** load of anime characters?
[EDIT - Might as well fix the spelling on this, finally... -C] |

First of all, hello to the forums!
And yes, it's okay to think that an Anime character is hot since the artist drew the person in what he/she thought was going to draw attention. I don't know why you think that they don't resemble real people since, I think, Anime is one of the most detailled animations ever. |

I've come across people who question why I think anime/comic characters are hot. With manga and anime, it's a couple things. Mainly it's the character design. Anime and manga characters with big eyes and so forth look very different from people in real life, but they still have characteristics that are the same as a person's in real life. They're just slightly exaggerated. A person with the right imagination can easily imagine those designs to a person in real life. The characteristics alone a person can find hot without even thinking about what they'd look like on a real person. Sounds a little out there, but that's what I do. Another thing, of course, is the character's personality.
Just grab the person who seems to be the living entity of your fave anime character when you can, and don't replace real people with anime ones. Last edited by littlegreenwolf on Fri Apr 30, 2004 3:53 pm; edited 1 time in total |

I see no probelm with finding anime characters attractive. It's just like looking at another picture as far as I'm concerned. But of course, there's the factor of human hormones...
Anyway, as long as your liking doesn't go into an unhealthy obsession, there's nothing wrong with it. And welcome to the forums! |

Yeah, there isn't anything wrong with it. Heck, I've been known to take in a hentai every once and awhile. Just as long as you don't use it to replace live people I wouldn't worry.

Sure it ok. Me and my friends watch FLCL and other animes and from within the laughing you can hear, "Hey she/he is hot!".

Generally,I agree with the sentiments expressed. But there have been some times I've been creeped out.
For example, for Neo Ranga you can find nudes of all three sisters. The younger ones are fourteen and twelve. Yeuuuu! spoiler[Also, it is hinted that the younger one has experince with a teacher during second season.] All the best, Nani? |

Of course not! Embrace your love of the perfectly well drawn (although sometimes overly proportionate) bodies of anime characters of the opposite sex with a passion! It's not wrong to think anything that's not real is hot. Sometimes, I will refer to my friend's car as "sexy," or my girl friends sometimes refer to Michaelangelo's David as "hot." I also hear a lot of people discuss how hot the DOA girls are. The same applies to anime characters. As long as it's not not a human (ie tentacle demons *shudder*), then it's cool.

I don't see a problem with it at all as long as you still find real people attractive, as well. It's just like J-Syxx said in that it's similar to thinking a celebrity is hot; both a celebrity and an anime character are unattainable fantasies, and there's nothing wrong with that.
The only real hangups are beocming too obsessed with the particular anime character, and finding yourself attracted to characters that are under the age of consent or overtly look the part (but then, that applies to real life, as well). |

Hell, yeah, and I recently found my new favourite "hot" character... Bridget from Guilty Gear.
Damn, Bridget is just sooooooo KAWAII in that nun's uniform!!! LOL

Definetly not. I don't like any real people right now, so why not heart hot anime characters?

Umm,not really.Ok they are both unobtainable and celebrities have somewhat fake personalities but celebrities are real people anime characters are not
Good point and unfortunately anime character designers often design characters who are supposed to be sexy but look very young as well. To often do we see anime girls who look 13 but have stupidly large breasts. It's as if the designers are trying to encourage inappropriate fantasies. |
